I am so incredibly proud that my book is now available on Amazon. Finally it’s easy for my International readers to get their hands on a copy so go ahead, pop over and if you’ve bought the book and loved it (which I sincerely hope you do), please be so kind to write a review and rate it as well. It would mean the world to me! I thought I’d share a few, never-seen-before images from the book as added incentive. cheesy baked meatballs in tomato sauce

I’ve wanted to share some of the photography and styling from my cookbook with my readers for quite some time and so, thought today should be the day I do so. As I said in my ‘Behind the Scenes’ post, I wanted the photography and styling to be very casual and relaxed because in essence, that is the style of my food. I decided to use only very necessary props and to select them carefully as I have a tendency to ‘over-clutter’ my shots when I try to use too many props. I wanted the focus to be fully on the food. So, I promised you a little look into the behind the scenes of the making of my cookbook and here it is. I decided to do this post to allow you, my loyal readers, a little look into what it takes to create a cookbook. This is a bit of a lengthy post so I would suggest you get yourself a cup of tea and read it when you have a bit of time to spare. Because I did all the cooking, shooting, styling and writing myself, I completely enveloped myself in the process and learned such an enormous amount in the 4 months it took to put together this…

I’m  so very excited to be sharing my cookbook covers with you… finally! As the book will be available in English & Afrikaans we decided on going for two different covers and I have to say, I am in love with both. Funny enough, neither of these photos were planned as cover shots. They were simply photos I took to accompany the recipes inside the book and actually had a different shot planned for the cover but at the end, these just worked so much better. I can’t believe that it’s only a few weeks before my book is available for purchase.     So, what do you think? Next…

Chocolate Truffle Tarts

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you’ll know that I shared some very (read: VERY VERY VERY) exciting news late last year. Before I get to that news here, on my blog, however, I need to start at the beginning. I started my blog two and a half years ago when my twins were about 10/11 months. I was a stay-at-home-mom who had been a make-up and hair artist before I fell pregnant and had to stop working/studying due to being pregnant with twins (standing 12 hours a day is not exactly healthy when you are carrying twins). My blog was a way to not only share my…
